Prof. dr. Tamás Lakner, dean of the Faculty of Music and Visual Arts of the University of Pécs and Mr. Mike Xinyu Gu, who represents some 40 education institutions in China, have been conducting discussions since autumn 2017.  In order to better carry out the communications and cooperation between the Faculty of Music and Visual Arts of the University of Pécs and China, a Work Team was established by the name: „Chinese Education”. The Work Team is responsible for the following activities: recruiting students in China, intercollegiate alliance cooperation, cooperatively-run school and cultural communications. As many of the higher education institutions represented by Mr. Gu are involved in music and visual arts training, the partnership is favourable for both parties. The Chinese party has already started preparations for a large marketing campaign, the central element of which will be a concert and masterclass tour by the professors and students of the Institute of Music of the University of Pécs. The goal of the visit is to introduce the Faculty of Music and Visual Arts in China’s Sichuan Province in order to attract students to Pécs and to engage in mutually beneficial long term cooperation.
