MK30: Autumn Events in Budapest and Beyond

This autumn, the Faculty of Arts, University of Pécs will celebrate its 30th anniversary with a diverse programme of exhibitions, concerts and accompanying events.  Events will take place at prestigious venues in Budapest - including the House of Music Hungary, Pesti Vigadó, HAB, FUGA, Eötvös10 and Bakáts Bunker - as well as at international locations in Salzburg and Cluj-Napoca. 

The programme series is supported by the Universitas Quinqueecclesiensis Foundation. 

Programme Calendar 

Exhibition: 9 September – 4 October 2026 

Alumni – Selection from the Archive of the Faculty of Arts 

Opening: 9 September, 6.00 pm 

Eötvös10, Basement Gallery, 1067 Budapest, 10 Eötvös Street

The exhibition presents a selection of contemporary works from the Faculty’s Graduate Archive and the collection of its Doctoral School. The collection reflects the Faculty’s role in higher art education and its contribution to the cultural life of Pécs and the wider region. 

Exhibition: 11 September – 15 November 2026 

The Pécs School: Thirty Years of the Faculty of Arts 

HAB - Hungarian Art and Business, 1062 Budapest, 112 Andrássy Avenue 

Featuring works by more than thirty artists, The Pécs School explores the visual and intellectual affinities connecting several generations of artists associated with Pécs and the Faculty of Arts. A series of accompanying exhibitions across Budapest presents this artistic phenomenon as an open and continually evolving dialogue. 

13 September 2026, 11.00 am - 8.15 pm 

30th Anniversary Concert of the Faculty of Arts, University of Pécs 

House of Music Hungary, 1146 Budapest, Olof Palme Promenade 3 

Four concerts and a flashmob will feature student ensembles, chamber groups and artist-teachers from the Institute of Music, including the PTE Vilmos Zsolnay Wind Orchestra, the Pécs Saxophone Ensemble, the University of Pécs Symphony Orchestra and the PTE University Choir. The programme showcases the diversity and high artistic standards of the Institute’s musical activities.  

Exhibition: 8 October - 3 November 2026 

Beneath the Clouds, Above the Clouds (works by Painting, Sculpture, Intermedia Art, and Art Therapy students of the Faculty of Arts) 

Opening: 8 October, 6.00 pm 
1092 Budapest, 8 Bakáts Street / 1 Bakáts Square 

Beneath the Clouds, Above the Clouds presents works by students of Painting, Sculpture, Intermedia Art and Art Therapy exploring fragility, loss, healing and renewal. The exhibition will be opened by curator and aesthetician Luca Cserhalmi.  

Exhibition: 9 October – 8 November 2026 

Dialogue: An Exhibition by Faculty Members of the Institute of Design and Media Arts

Opening: 9 October 2026, 6.00 pm 

FUGA Architecture Centre, Main Hall, 1052 Budapest, 5 Petőfi Sándor Street

Conceived as a unified whole with Conclusion, Dialogue brings works by Márta Nagy and Imre Schrammel into dialogue with works by members of the teaching staff of the Institute of Design and Media Arts. The exhibition explores material, form, technology and contemporary visual culture.

Conclusion: An Exhibition by Faculty Members of the Institute of Design and Media Arts 

Opening: 29 October, 6.00 pm 
FUGA Budapest Center of Architecture, Lucien Hervé Hall, 1052 Budapest, 5 Petőfi Sándor Street

Conclusion marks the second chapter of the joint exhibition, presenting recent works by the faculty of the Institute of Design and Media Arts at the University of Pécs, Faculty of Arts. The selection reflects on current artistic practices while pointing towards future directions shaped by accumulated knowledge, experimentation, and innovation. It also acknowledges the lasting legacy of Márta Nagy and Imre Schrammel, whose pioneering work laid the foundations of the Institute.
