Where to Live - Accommodation Options

One of your first major decisions will be where to live. In Pécs, you can choose between university accommodation and private housing, so it's worth exploring your options early.

Halls of Residence

The University of Pécs offers student halls of residence that provide affordable accommodation and a great opportunity to become part of the student community.

What you should know

  • You must apply separately – accommodation is not allocated automatically.
  • Places are limited and are usually awarded based on social/financial criteria.
  • Most rooms are shared with other students.
  • Halls offer shared facilities, a vibrant community atmosphere, and events organised by the Student Residence Committee (KOB).

Private Accommodation

If you prefer more independence, renting privately may be the right choice for you.

What you should know

  • Rental prices vary depending on the location and condition of the property.
  • Landlords usually require a security deposit plus one month's rent in advance.
  • Many students choose to share a flat with housemates.

Advantages

  • More privacy
  • Greater flexibility and independence

Housing Allowance / Financial Support: Eligible students may apply for financial assistance through the University's accommodation support scheme.
